FINANCE

We're a truly global team with a presence around the world. Our biggest teams are based in the UK and Portugal. Our team in Porto focuses on financial reporting and operations, while the team in London is made up of Financial Planning, Reporting, Commercial Finance, Corporate Finance, Tax, Transformation & Controls, and Group Treasury. 
All of our teams play an instrumental role within the business, from developing best practice, delivering strategic projects and helping us to tell our story with data. All our teams work closely together to provide a support network for the business, ensuring the long-term success of Farfetch!  

LONDON

Our office is located in Old Street, London's tech hub. With an open-plan space, ideal for collaborative working, an outdoor terrace for a team lunch, or a dedicated studio for a yoga class.

THE ROLE

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis plays a pivotal role in leading this Group function and is essential to Farfetch's goal of cultivating a world-class finance department.
The purpose of the role is to ensure decisions are made for the benefit of the Group, including setting the Group financial targets and ensuring results are reported accurately and to schedule, under a strong control framework.
The Director of FP&A will lead and be responsible for the teams that own financial planning & analysis,  external reporting and Treasury. 
The Director will take responsibility for financial reporting (internal and external),  the Group’s audit & review processes, the financial planning process and the tools and reporting solutions , as well as working with the wider Finance Leadership Team to build a best-in-class finance function.  In this role you will be required to develop the operating and financial plan needed to achieve strategic plans and goals, drive decisions and track performance on growth, commissions, margins, cashflows and strategic initiatives. The role will also support modelling for new launches, supplier negotiations and customer analysis.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Drive the development and delivery of the Group’s financial planning activities, including long-term plans, annual budgets and reforecasts; challenging the status quo and leading initiatives to deliver a more effective and efficient function
    • Accountable for the preparation of Executive and Board finance papers, supporting analysis and insight through partnering with other functional directors, coordinating their forecasts and controlling the overall position for the businessLead the quarterly and year-end reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting output in line with SOX requirements, taking full responsibility for all SEC filings and other externally reported data. 
    • Ownership, implementation and advice on accounting policies. Review of the company’s accounting policies in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and the Group policies; ensuring standard global application of policies are appropriately applied 
    • Drive the development of the Finance reporting solutions, ensuring tools, analysis, models and data are delivered in order to support the wider Finance teams needs.
    • Contribute to automatic report generation using business intelligence tools, to be utilised as part of a continuous efficiency improvement program.Own Group Treasury, ensuring management of the company’s currency hedging programme and insight into the actual and forecast impact of foreign exchange movements on the company’s business performance
    • Lead, engage and motivate a team, ensuring performance is at a high level and our company values are reflected in how they perform their role. 
    • As part of the Finance Leadership Team, provide direction to the broader Finance team globally, contribute to the development of the Finance function change plans, and act as a key change agent for all finance change projects underway

WHO YOU ARE

    • A qualified accountant with considerable PQE
    • Relevant experience in financial planning and analysis in a fast-paced technology oriented organisation. 
    • High level of process orientation and attention to detail.
    • Strong people leader with proven experience of developing and engaging talent
    • Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of technical accounting standards and financial controls (IFRS, US GAAP, SOX)
    • Ability to influence and drive change across complex global business models and projects 
    • Can operate in ambiguous and changing situations to deliver to the right results
    • A strategic mindset, with an ability to have a long-term vision with an eye on detail
    • Apply commercial acumen to deliver sound, accounting judgements 
    • Can self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines
    • Fast paced and driven by a strong sense of urgency
    • Strong MS-Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
    • Expertise in financial modelling and data analysisStrong analytical thinking.
    • Be able to start with problem statement, ask 5Ys and arrive at data backed solutions
    • Familiar with establishing and managing KPIs
    • Capable to develop a strong understanding of our business, even if you do not have previous luxury/tech experience
