What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (Project Manager) to join the Fast Radius team. This position will be the conduit between our network of China based suppliers and our US headquarters (Chicago).  This role will help oversee projects that have been issued to contract manufactures to ensure production goes smoothly with the highest level of quality and delivered on-time.  Additionally, this position will help identify, qualify and monitor new suppliers to help support our rapidly growing company.

This individual will work closely with both US sales and operations teams to ensure contract manufacturers are providing the necessary support on our projects. This position will be the “boots on the ground” project manager to oversee work in progress and do post-production inspection on parts before orders ship from the factory.

The likely candidate will have a deep technical knowledge and hands on experience in manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC, sheet metal).  Additionally, this individual must have experience inspecting production parts to product specifications and comfortable auditing suppliers. To be successful in this role, he/she will need to be process-minded, able to juggle many projects simultaneously, time-efficient, and a great communicator with both our US teams and Asia based suppliers. A hard-working, roll-up your sleeves attitude is must. 


    • Primary resource in Asia overseeing contract manufacturers (injection molding, CNC, sheet metal fabrication)
    • Conduct post-production inspections of completed parts prior to shipping
    • Assist in brokering RFQs to manufactures to ensure projects are quoted quickly
    • Provide project management support with suppliers for all open projects to ensure on-time delivery of projects are met
    • Find and onboard new suppliers that fit Fast Radius portfolio of vendors
    • Audit suppliers to ensure compliance to necessary standards (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
    • Set up and train suppliers on Fast Radius Quality Management Systems
    • Work with manufacturers to resolve non-conforming parts, supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives around quality and on-time delivery
    • Help translate technical documents from Chinese to English
    • Manage delivery logistics and documentation from the supplier to freight forwarder
    • Monitoring suppliers to ensure they are honest and forthcoming with project details
    • Develop and manage supplier performance metrics and scorecards


    • Fluent in both Mandarin and English (spoken and written), Cantonese a plus
    • Minimum 8 years of demonstrated success in a similar position
    • Prior experience in:
    • Managing suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products
    • Validating the supplier design propositions
    • Inspecting CNC, injection mold tools and post-production parts
    • Inspecting and auditing to support compliance with production operations
    • Triaging product defects / quality complaints and managing necessary corrective actions
    • Working with certification and QA/QC processes
    • Comfortable managing suppliers and issue resolution
    • Knowledge on ISO certification, PPAP, and quality systems
    • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications
    • Proficiency with CAD software for reviewing and understanding 3D CAD files
    • Preferred a candidate with hands on experience cutting injection mold tooling or programming CNC machines
    • Location: Hong Kong
    • Regular travel to Guangdong province required. May require travel to Suzhou
    • Travel to Chicago, USA to train for one or two weeks to better understand the business
