You’ll join our eight-person Corporate Communications team as part of a collaborative design group that includes another designer and a Creative Manager. Together, you’ll create visuals that bring our ideas, stories, and messages to life across a wide range of channels.
You’ll balance conceptual design with hands-on production — sometimes creating original work from the ground up, other times adapting and evolving our brand templates to fit new needs. Your designs will help our staff, clients, and community connect with our work, whether through a blog post, social media graphic, or event presentation.
You’ll collaborate daily with our Communications Strategists, project teams, and corporate staff, acting as a creative partner who can turn concepts into clear, engaging visuals.
Design for Multiple Channels
- Create original graphics, illustrations, and layouts for blogs, social media, internal communications, and event materials.
- Adapt and refine existing templates to meet project needs while keeping designs fresh and engaging.
- Develop visuals for digital campaigns, intranet pages, and web content.
- Support presentation design for webinars, workshops, and conferences.
Collaborate and Consult
- Partner with Communications Strategists to translate ideas into visuals that tell a story.
- Work directly with staff to understand content needs and recommend creative approaches.
- Provide feedback and suggestions on how design can strengthen messaging and engagement.
Keep Our Visuals On-Brand
- Ensure all designs follow brand guidelines while finding creative ways to keep the look and feel current.
- Suggest updates to templates, graphics, and other visual tools to improve usability and impact.
- Share design trends and ideas that can help us communicate more effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design, visual communications, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional design experience, with a portfolio showcasing relevant and recent work (required with application).
- Strong skills in visual storytelling and the ability to balance creativity with brand consistency.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and levels.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with high-quality results.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with WordPress, Premier, Motion Graphics, or Microsoft SharePoint.
- Background in the transportation, architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
Work Environment
- Hybrid role with 2 days/week in the Roseville office.
- Occasional travel to the Walnut Creek office (usually quarterly).
- Collaborate virtually with colleagues across multiple locations and specialties.
$75,000 - $90,000 a year
Placement within the stated pay range will be determined based upon education, experience, and qualifications.
