Our Dallas office is looking for an experienced Transportation Engineer or Planner to join our small but mighty team of innovative professionals. This role provides many opportunities to develop multimodal transportation solutions, manage projects, mentor entry-level staff, and build client relationships. In this role, you will connect with experts across the firm on technical work and build technical capacity in Dallas and our other offices. The Dallas office supports work in the region and across Texas, as well as our offices in Florida and across the country.

Responsibilities

    • Work on a variety of projects, which may include safety plans, traffic and transit planning and simulation, multimodal corridor studies, transportation impact studies, bicycle and pedestrian studies, regional transportation plans, and more  
    • Provide training and mentoring to junior staff 
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, using strong writing and presentation skills 
    • Contribute to business development, including marketing and proposal development 
    • Manage small to medium-sized projects and tasks 
    • Participate in professional organizations 
    • Conduct site visits and collect field data  
    • Attend and occasionally lead client meetings 

Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of directly relevant work experience in one or more of the following areas: traffic operations analysis (e.g., HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, Sidra), traffic engineering and streetscape design, transportation planning (e.g., safety action plans, bicycle or transit plans, infrastructure finance, transportation and land use policy), or travel demand forecasting (e.g., Cube/Voyager, TransCAD, Transmodeler)  
    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related major (e.g., geography, math, statistics, economics, architecture)  
    • Experience or exposure to GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation), and programming–Python and/or R.  
    • Professional license (highly desirable), e.g. AICP, PE in addition to certifications such as RSP, PTP, PTOE  
    • Experience with project management and marketing (desirable)  
$80,000 - $100,000 a year
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 annually. Placement within the stated pay range will be determined based upon education, experience, and qualifications.
