Manages daily tasks of the fabrication specialist and production fabricators in support of the Monster Jam Fleet. Working with fabrication staff on new chassis builds, assessing chassis damages chassis repairs, chassis updates, equipment, container/trailer builds, seat building, and R & D projects. Work with the fabrication manager in carrying out projects to meet deadlines, assist in daily tasks, and maintenance of fabrication shop equipment. Fabrication Foreman may travel for on tour repairs and fabrication projects needed to support the Monster Jam Fleet and Feld Entertainment touring operations. Job duties also include aligning, fitting, welding, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts, studying specifications, gathering materials, and operating machinery with efficiency.
Essential Function
- Supervises implementation of routine work schedules for assigned fabrication tasks to meet project deadline.
- Able to instruct other fabricators and technicians to aid in the development of the Monster Jam Fleet
- Able to construct new chassis, asses, and repair chassis without supervision with superior finish quality.
- Use hand and power tools in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Must be able to work closely with the Fabrication manager, Fabricators, Fleet Technicians, and Fleet Operations Manager to finish projects by assigned deadlines.
- Problem solves complex construction techniques and R&D new processes of chassis, parts, show props, and animatronics.
- Able to multitask and delegate projects based on priority
- Assess chassis damages, create a plan to repair damages, and see repairs through completion. Update management team during repairs.
- Manage fabrication shop supplies, order necessary supplies when needed.
- When Applicable, Over see production fabrication staff to ensure quality and deadlines met. Attend meetings and follow any projects plans provided by the fabrication manager.
- Accept all other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
- 1-3 years related experience.
- GMAW, TIG, and SMAW welding experience required.
- Vocational certificate or voluntary certification in welding and fabrication preferred.
- Tubing welding, tubing bending, notching, fitting, and installing experience preferred.
- Mechanical Knowledge and aptitude involving fabrication, metal work and metal tubing work.
- Demonstrated ability to perform calculations and apply basic algebraic principles, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical work-related scenarios.
- Personal characteristics - team player, organized, task oriented, quick learner, self-starter, critical thinking.
- The ability and willingness to travel internationally and domestically 25% of the time.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and lift 75 lbs.
- Utilize technical drawings, blueprints, or other specifications to construct metal products, as well as several products ranging from sheet metal parts to tubing parts.
- Ability to provide logical solutions to complex problems and to interpret a variety of requests or instructions.
