Fellowship Village is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Per Diem Speech/Language Pathologist to join our Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will organize and conduct speech/language therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, helping clients improve communication and swallowing skills. You will work to enhance client performance and support their learning of essential functions to diminish or correct pathology, contributing to overall health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Evaluations: Evaluate clients, develop appropriate treatment goals, and implement speech therapy treatment plans, including all necessary documentation related to the services provided.
- Therapeutic Techniques: Apply therapeutic techniques to improve cognitive skills, communication, speech, oral motor skills, dysphagia (swallowing disorders), perceptual abilities, orientation, and psychosocial functioning.
- Tailored Activities: Select appropriate activities suited to each client’s physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interests.
- Collaboration: Work with other rehabilitation team members to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen based on individual client needs.
- Client Instruction: Instruct clients in the skills and techniques required for participation in therapy activities, and assess their progress regularly.
- Program Adaptation: Adapt programs according to the specific needs of each client.
- Safety: Promote a safe environment and ensure the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
- Care Meetings: Attend and contribute to client care, staffing, and other relevant meetings.
- Documentation: Complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner to ensure that information is readily available in the resident’s medical chart.
- Training: Conduct training for medical, nursing, and other personnel in speech therapy techniques and objectives.
- Equipment Management: Requisition necessary supplies and equipment, and maintain, clean, and report any need for repair of equipment.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, ensuring residents and families receive high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individual’s needs and rights.
- Mission Support: Understand and support the mission and philosophy of FellowshipLIFE, contributing to the goals of the Board of Trustees and the administration as part of the management team.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
- Education: Possess a Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology or a related area.
- Certification: Must possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association or be eligible to participate as a Clinical Fellow.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
$50 - $55 an hour
Schedule:
Per diem position, with weekday and weekend coverage as needed.
