The Role

Fig is in search of a dynamic Product Manager driven by a commitment to solving customer challenges, crafting innovative and scalable solutions, and challenging the conventional norms. This position will report to the Senior Product Manager.

As the Product Manager for Canada’s newest digital lender, you will play a pivotal role in elevating Fig to new heights and achieving our ambitious targets. Your key contributions will include:

1. Managing and evolving Fig’s core lending infrastructure, including but not limited to the Loan Origination application flows, Loan Origination System (LOS), and Decision Engine.
2. Collaborating closely with Engineering, Design, and Product teams to effectively implement the committed roadmap items.
3. Iteratively enhancing product development and delivery processes and frameworks to ensure sustained high velocity while upholding product quality.
4. Utilizing qualitative and quantitative data from the application funnel and collaborating with cross-functional teams at Fig (Credit, Fraud, Customer Experience, Partnerships, Marketing, Business Operations, Compliance) to optimize the product and user experience. This optimization aims to drive conversion, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks effectively.

What you'll do

    • Product Delivery
    • Analyze and break down opportunities into testable hypotheses and experiments; collaborate with design and engineering teams to plan effective sprints and iterative releases.
    • Advocate for agile practices, establishing a foundation for iterative product development based on key insights from both internal and external feedback at Fig.
    • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design teams to facilitate the scaling of Fig’s lending infrastructure.

    • Product Readiness
    • Work with the Customer Experience team to ensure preparedness for all product releases and set the team up for success.
    • Regularly collaborate with the Legal and Compliance team to guarantee product compliance and stay informed about legislative changes that may impact the product and roadmap.

    • Partner & Vendor Relations
    • Lead the integration and implementation of new solutions to help Fig scale. 
    • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders and prospective lending partners to determine requirements and prioritize effectively.

    • Product Metrics
    • Take ownership of desired outcomes and success metrics.
    • Monitor and measure performance, identifying areas of opportunity to prioritize in alignment with business goals.
    • Execute the product roadmap for both current and future origination channels.

What you'll need

    • Minimum 2-3 years in roles such as a Product Manager, or similar within the realm of product development. 
    • Big bonus if you have worked for a digital lender, possessing knowledge of Loan Origination Systems and other types of lending infrastructure and tools.
    • Strong experience working directly with Engineering teams.
    • Bonus if it was in an agile environment.
    • Experience taking ideas from zero to one.
    • Experience in early stage startups.
    • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, displaying a willingness to assume various roles and contribute to building a thriving business.
    • Exhibit a high degree of customer empathy and a genuine passion for solving customer problems.
    • Highly effective communicator and relationship builder. Effectively work with all levels of the leadership and adjacent teams to build buy-in, support and awareness on your initiatives.
    • Data and hypothesis-driven mindset, capable of balancing both quantitative and qualitative analysis and research methods.
    • A curious individual with a strong desire to learn, comfortable navigating through ambiguity.
    • Travel requirements - This is a hybrid role with the expectation to come into the office 1 day per week (Thursdays). 
    • Bonus if you are fluent in French (not mandatory).
