This is a remote role and open to anyone within the United States (all work must be done in the US).

The salary range for this role is $110,707 to $166,061; however, Findhelp considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education and training, and key skills. We also provide generous benefits and a stock option package to all our employees.

The role:  
As a Senior Cloud Database Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our performance, integrity and security across over a hundred MySQL database instances and BigQuery cloud data warehouse. Your day-to-day activities will include communicating regularly with technical staff to ensure database integrity and security,  planning and development of databases, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. You’ll work closely with the Engineering team to build high-performance databases to deliver high-quality software and business value faster and more productively.

What You'll Do:

    • Taking ownership of complex databases (SQL, NoSQL, Columnar, In-memory types of dbs)
    • Plan and execute database upgrades 
    • Advising developers on data storage aspects of building robust, scalable applications
    • Working with data engineers to manage data flows between multiple storage sources
    • Mapping out and documenting data relationships
    • Creating and managing backup, restore, user access policies
    • Enforcing standards, processes, and SLAs
    • Leading database change management processes and supporting CI/CD processes from a database perspective
    • Performance tuning of databases and SQL queries
    • Automating processes and creating maintenance plan for multiple database environments
    • Performing proactive database administration
    • Occasional on-call duties

Experience You’ll Bring:

    • 5+ years of MySQL database administration experience
    • Have done database administration in a GCP environment
    • Strong understanding of MySQL database security management
    • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and stored procedures
    • Proficiency in SQL query tuning
    • Excellent documentation skills
    • Record of emphasizing cross-functional teamwork
    • Experience in Data Modeling, ETL/ELT workflow management
    • Strong knowledge of operating systems, Shell/Python scripting is a big plus
    • Nice to have: DataStore, BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, remote work experience
