The Product Owner role is the bridge between strategy and delivery for our product organization. Working with the product managers to understand the strategic goals and then developing solutions with the delivery teams on how to best achieve those goals. 

Core Responsibilities

    • Ensures the team is getting the business collaboration needed for success. 
    • Light use of project management tools.
    • Heavy initial release planning then continuously engages the team to update the plan each iteration. 
    • Holds daily 15-minute standup meetings with all team members. 
    • Measures and reports progress toward product goals to the overall product team.
    • Brings high visibility into the team’s progress. 
    • Prepares visual reports that represent the team’s progress.
    • Develop and contribute to a strong product culture that values collaboration across functions & stakeholders, continuous and rapid testing, learning & iteration, solving problems and delivering outcomes. 
    • Collaborate with UX design and engineering leaders to define requirements for new products and enhancements for the entire delivery team.
    • Partner with marketing, field engineering, sales and customer success teams to provide technical enablement and training. 
    • Develop & maintain collaborative relationships with business stakeholders, including FireMon’s marketing, field engineering, sales and customer success. 
    • Identify relevant data sources & metrics that can be used in all phases of the product planning and delivery process. Share insights and learning with product teams, stakeholders and executives to increase decision quality.  

Required Skills and Experience

    • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
    • Strong organization skills to help manage ideas and feedback from multiple sources.
    • Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills; strong business acumen, and well-honed influencing skills are essential.  
    • Experience building strong partnerships with development and UX counterparts.
    • Self-motivated and team-oriented; able to work both autonomously and effectively as part of a remote, distributed team. 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field OR relevant equivalent experience.  
    • 2+ years of real-world experience leading product delivery teams. 
    • Knowledge of and experience with Agile Requirements Gathering methods and Story identification, breakdown and estimation techniques. 
    • Understands and has experience with iterative delivery of projects. Business value driven. 
    • Flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. 
    • Possess a positive attitude and work well with others.

Preferred Skills and Experience

    • BA/BS technical degree, preferably covering computer science and/or networking.
    • Experience working in IT, network, or security operations.
    • Security certifications including CISSP, and CISM are desirable but not required.
    • Experience helping teams define success metrics.
    • Demonstrable experience defining the value of new opportunities.
    • Technical Marketing and Sales Engineering experiences helpful.
    • Working knowledge of network security and network infrastructure domains. 
    • Working knowledge of risk and compliance. 
    • PMBOK certification in addition to a Scrum Master certification.
