About the Position
The Senior Analyst will report to our Head of APAC research and will be part of the overall Asia Pacific research team at FrontierView. They will get a unique perspective on how macroeconomic and political trends impact business plans and operations in the world’s largest multinationals. They will also have the opportunity to monitor, analyze, and develop views on a range of economic, political, and business issues across South Asia. 

About the FrontierView Global Research Team
The Senior Analyst will be part of FrontierView’s global research team. The global research team produces all syndicated content for FrontierView’s client base of several thousand senior executives at major multinational organizations. The team combines regional knowledge, macroeconomic and political insights, and business acumen to provide impactful analysis, forecasts, and executional advice for a senior executive audience. They work in close collaboration with the commercial team in supporting FrontierView’s growth strategy and ongoing client relationships. 

Within the global research team, the Asia Pacific research team supports clients on economic and political analysis and its implications for businesses across a range of markets in East Asia, Oceania, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Each analyst covers a set of countries for which they are responsible for market monitoring, creating foundational views on their short and long-term outlooks, economic forecasting, political analysis, and sharing their views and findings through regular written publications and client-facing presentations. In this case, the Senior Analyst will focus their efforts on India and Pakistan. The analyst will also have opportunities to work closely with colleagues on regional and global issues. 

About You
Qualified individuals with a passion for informing the decisions of senior corporate executives are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a unique position that allows for significant ownership of our view, as well as exposure to how macroeconomic, political, and business analysis feeds directly into corporate plans and actions for the world’s largest multinationals. The analyst will have direct engagement with C-suite level executives, giving them remarkable opportunities to influence the decision-making processes of the world’s largest businesses.

We are looking specifically for individuals with a passion for South Asian economics and politics. They should bring strong macroeconomic fundamentals and a solid understanding of how local dynamics, policy, politics, and other factors can interact with economic dynamics to shape the business environment. They should bring exceptionally strong communication skills, flexibility to adapt to commercial needs, and the ability to get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar topics. 

What To Expect In This Position

    • Monitoring and analyzing economic, political, and business trends in South Asia 
    • Forecasting macroeconomic indicators and conducting ongoing economic analysis 
    • Writing research deliverables that are concise and impactful for a senior executive audience
    • Delivering research presentations to senior executive clients

What Sets You Apart

    • Required___
    • Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and oral. We are looking for someone who is not just fluent in English but also able to distill complex and technical topics for non-specialists and clearly explain their relevance and impact to business executives 
    • A Bachelor’s degree from a well-regarded academic institution in Economics, Regional Studies, or International Relations
    • Demonstrated knowledge of macroeconomics through prior experience or relevant coursework
    • Demonstrated knowledge of South Asia (particularly India) through education, work, personal experience, etc. 
    • Experience in managing multiple projects at once; excellent time and project management skills 
    • Demonstrated ability to cover a variety of topics and issues, including unfamiliar ones
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) 
    • Robust interpersonal and persuasion skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • A team-oriented mindset

    • Preferred____
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., international economics) 
    • 2+ years of work experience in a research or analysis role, ideally in or for the private sector 
    • Familiarity with or experience in the private sector
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the common issues, activities, and imperatives of a multinational executive responsible for India (e.g., distribution, sales force effectiveness, talent management, etc.)
    • Experience with research process innovation and product development
    • Time spent living and working in South Asia
