Position Overview
The LTL Operations Specialist is responsible for handling both carrier and customer-facing tasks within the LTL Department. This position will be involved in managed accounts specific to the department, with tasks including conflict resolution, quoting shipments, scheduling, bidding on freight, and most importantly growing relationships with our customers. The person for this position will have tenacity, a passion for account success, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Communicating professionally in person, over the phone, and via email to accounts, customers, and team members
    • Track growth/decline of managed customer accounts and identify new opportunities
    • Utilize TMS to enter bids and keeping communication with customers
    • Provide customers with a quick, effective solution if problems arise
    • Continuously build and increase your industry knowledge
    • Ability to be the main point of contact for customers
    • Assist accounting department with any invoicing problems that may arise
    • Ability to generate sales among existing customer accounts, including upselling and cross-selling
    • Service multiple customer accounts concurrently, often meeting deadlines 

Experience and Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred 
    • Minimum of two-year’s experience in logistics preferred, preferably on the LTL side of the business 
    • Minimum of three-year’s experience in customer service preferred

Knowledge and Skills

    • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 
    • Passion for sales and the art of negotiation

    • Ability to multitask while simultaneously building relationships
