Flight Operations
The role of a Flirtey Flight Operations Team Member is multi-faceted and constantly evolving within a business startup environment.  They must safely and effectively operate and maintain various computer based ground control stations, radio control hardware, unmanned aircraft and support equipment, in accordance with established operating procedures.  Personnel must be self-motivated and able to multi-task efficiently, while working in a fast-paced team environment.  

Common Duties

    • Plan and execute UAV missions and assist with various administrative tasks
    • Conduct UAV system testing, demonstrations and maintenance
    • Provide performance related feedback to enable system improvements and advances
    • Evaluate current processes and procedures and make suggestions for improvements
    • Assist engineering and/or build teams with the advancement of the Firtey UAS when not engaged in flight operations


    • CONUS and OCONUS travel for the support of flight testing, demonstrations and sustained customer operations is required
    • Must be flexible to travel as required to meet unforeseen operational changes

Required Qualifications

    • Acquire and maintain a valid Passport
    • Excellent planning and teamwork skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to work in outdoor environments to include extreme weather conditions
    • Ability to travel independently and operate for extended periods without supervision
    • Practical experience using basic hand tools
    • Proficient with MS Office applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint 

Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with operations, maintenance and employment of UAS and payloads
    • Experience with building, flying and repairing model aircraft, multirotor aircraft and FPV systems
    • FAA Part 107 Pilot
    • Four-year college degree in the aviation or field (i.e. Aeronautics, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineer)
    • Experience and proficiency with basic Pilot/ATC phraseology
