Engineering Managers at FloQast are responsible for building inclusive, collaborative, and customer-focused teams that deliver predictably. They partner closely with Product Management, Design, and internal stakeholders to focus on achieving the proper outcomes for our customers. Our Engineering Managers also use their technical background to coach and grow team members while iterating on process improvements that help the team succeed. This role reports to a Director of Engineering and joins a rapidly growing engineering department and company.

What You'll Do

    • Deliver value to Customers: Our engineering managers continually work across multiple disciplines to build product expertise and collaborate to solve customer and business problems. They guide their teams to deliver iterable and technically sound software solutions with speed and quality.
    • Create leaders: This Engineering Manager (EM) is responsible for the career and performance of the software engineers they manage. You will regularly coach, mentor, sponsor them in their growth, and be an active partner in each person's success.
    • Build out the org with hiring and retention: You will work with engineering and recruiting to attract people to join FloQast, and create the team environment to retain them.

What You'll Bring

    • 1-2 years of software engineering management experience with a track record of leading a software engineering team to deliver product(s) to a paying customer base
    • 4+ years of experience as an individual contributor/software engineer, preferably using open-source software and platforms.
    • A passion for product development, from ideation to delivery, and a drive to exceed customer and stakeholder expectations
    • 5+ years working on teams using Agile methodologies and an iterative process (Scrum, Kanban, XP) to deliver software to market. 
    • Expertise in software quality, TDD, DevOps & CI/CD, Agile, Lean Software Engineering, Continuous Improvement, fostering a culture of learning, servant leadership, and other means to guide technical teams.
    • Experience managing 5+ software engineers. 
    • Experience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring personnel in software engineering roles on your teams. 
    • Experience managing and coaching individuals' performance through review processes and providing guidance and feedback to help team members grow professionally. 
    • Experience leading and managing a remote team.
    • Positivity, enthusiasm, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative orientation.

Nice to haves

    • Hands-on experience in some or all of our core tech stack: React, Node, and MongoDB
    • Experience at a B2B SaaS organization
    • Accounting or Audit experience

This job posting is for our Software Engineering Manager, the base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $210,000.  Compensation is not limited to base salary.
