The Medical Assistant Role at Florence
Our dedicated Care Teams at Florence Health represent a comprehensive assembly of healthcare professionals, including a doctor, a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and medical assistants. In our patient-centric approach, our providers assume the pivotal role of primary medical caregivers for the Medicare patients under our care. This involves delivering longitudinal care and fostering meaningful connections with each patient, creating a foundation of trust and enhancing the patient's understanding and connection to their personalized care plan.

At the core of our Care Team structure is the indispensable role of the Medical Assistant (MA). Working closely with the MA Site Lead, the MA plays a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of patient appointments at the clinic. This entails meticulous preparation for the day, execution of back-office MA duties, and providing essential assistance to the Site Lead as necessary.

During patient appointments, the MA takes on the responsibility of rooming the patient. This involves orienting the patient about visit goals based on encounter prep, collecting vitals, and gathering other pertinent information before the provider's involvement. Beyond these technical aspects, the MA's bedside manner and overall professionalism contribute significantly to making the patient feel welcomed and at ease during the appointment. The MA becomes a vital ambassador, instilling confidence in the patient regarding the clinic, the provider, and the overall care team.

This role demands not only technical proficiency but also warmth and passion for patient interactions, meticulous attention to detail, pride in presentation, and a collaborative mindset. The MA collaborates seamlessly with the provider and fellow medical assistants, ensuring a cohesive and patient-centered healthcare experience.

What we’re looking for:

- An embrace of teamwork, communication, and the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant colleagues.
