Overview: The Florida Democratic Party Organizing Intern, working under the Voter Registration Director, will play a key role in expanding and strengthening the voter registration efforts in Florida. In addition to voter registration responsibilities, this intern will actively contribute to building out the Distributed Organizing Program across the state. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in both on-site and distributed organizing, contributing to the overall success of Democratic Party ground capacity building initiatives.

Responsibilities:
1. Voter Registration Support: Collaborate with the Voter Registration Director to implement and enhance voter registration strategies in Florida. Assist county parties and regional leads in planning and executing voter registration drives and events.

2. Distributed Organizing Program: Work with the Voter Registration Director to expand the Distributed Organizing Program across the state. Collaborate with regional organizers and volunteers to ensure effective implementation of distributed organizing initiatives.

3. Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to increase awareness of voter registration opportunities. Attend community events and meetings to promote Democratic Party initiatives.

4. Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of voter registration and organizing events, ensuring smooth logistics. Mobilize volunteers for on-site and distributed organizing activities.

5. Data Management: Work closely with the Voter Registration Director to maintain accurate records of voter registration and distributed organizing efforts. Utilize databases and technology tools to track and analyze engagement data.

6. Training and Support: Assist in training and supporting volunteers involved in voter registration and distributed organizing activities. Provide information and resources to empower volunteers in their roles.

7. Reporting: Compile regular reports on voter registration and distributed organizing progress and outcomes. Communicate updates to the Voter Registration Director and other relevant stakeholders.

8. Collaboration: Work closely with the Voter Registration team, Democratic Party officials, and other interns. Collaborate with regional organizers to ensure consistent and effective distributed organizing efforts.

Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a college or university program, preferably with a focus on political science, public policy, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for Democratic values and a commitment to fostering civic engagement.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Basic knowledge of Florida's political landscape and electoral processes.

$15 - $15 an hour
