About the Company
Flow aims to create a superior living environment that enhances the lives of our residents and communities by developing, acquiring, owning, and managing multifamily apartment buildings and the services and technology inside those buildings.

Fulfilling our mission will require an exceptional group of people whose collective output is greater than the sum of its individual parts. Our team members are energized by the opportunity to impact our residents’ lives in meaningful ways. They are bold and creatively ambitious, driven by relentlessly high standards, act with a sense of urgency and accountability, and always, above all, operate with integrity, loyalty, and trust.

About the Role
We’re looking for a sharp, hands-on Assistant Controller to join our fast-growing Accounting team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you'll play a critical role in scaling our controllership function while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across the board. You’ll help lead month-end close, strengthen internal controls, support audits, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive insight and accountability across the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a high-growth environment and wants to help build a world-class accounting org from the inside out.

What You’ll Do

    • Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, and internal management reports
    • Partner with the Corporate Controller to develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation that scale with the business
    • Draft GAAP-compliant technical accounting memos that clearly communicate complex concepts and their operational impact
    • Support reporting integrity by working with FP&A to ensure records align with key business dimensions (e.g., departments, vendors, business units)
    • Manage and maintain financial system dimensions and reporting structures in our ERP (Sage Intacct experience is a plus)
    • Help enhance and implement internal controls for both existing and evolving processes
    • Support external audits by organizing requests, managing timelines, and offering clear documentation and commentary
    • Pitch in on team development, cross-functional initiatives, and special projects as needed

What You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with 8–10 years of relevant experience (a mix of public accounting and in-house experience preferred)
    • Solid foundation in US GAAP (IFRS experience a plus) and experience preparing or reviewing financial statements
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills—you know how to collaborate, influence, and bring clarity to complex topics
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication (both written and verbal)
    • Experience working across multiple legal entities and ownership structures
    • Advanced Excel skills, with bonus points for Python and SQL exposure
    • CPA strongly preferred, but not required
    • Experience with a modern ERP system—Sage Intacct or similar preferred

Why You’ll Love Working Here

    • You’ll join a team that values precision, pragmatism, and partnership. We take pride in getting the details right, moving fast without cutting corners, and building systems that last. You’ll have a voice, real ownership, and a chance to shape how accounting supports our continued growth.
