As the Systems Engineer, Product Verification & Validation, you will work with cross-functional teams within Fluence’s Product team to verify and validate Fluence Energy storage requirements against technical and customer requirements.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Work as a systems engineer on multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to deliver MW-scale energy storage products
- Develop deep understanding of the electrical, mechanical, functional, and safety design of Fluence’s products.
- Validate engineering design and documentation against Fluence product requirements.
- Develop system and subsystem test plans, detailed test procedures, and overall testing strategy for specific products under development
- Incorporate customer and sales engineering testing requirements into system test plans
- Provide support to test execution team at Fluence test labs in executing test plans. Travel to labs periodically to support test team and get a strong understanding of Fluence’s lab capabilities, test equipment, and processes.
- Review test results to verify that requirements are met and that results are well documented in testing tools.
- Collaborate with product certification team to ensure test procedures and test results meet requirements of product safety standards, i.e. UL9540, IEC62933, UL1973.
- Collaborate with lab team to optimize test plan for the testing of different product configurations with significant overlap in design and testing requirements
- Provide feedback on clarity and specificity of product requirements to the rest of the development team to drive improvements in requirements development
What you will bring to Fluence:
- Bachelors' or Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 2-5 years industry experience, with background in renewable energy systems, power conversion, energy storage, PV, power systems control, or similar field
- Experience developing or executing product test plans
- Knowledge of tools for test management is a plus (i.e. Testrail, JAMA)
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Passion for energy storage, collaborative engineering, and learning from others
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel up to 20-30%.
