Manager PCS Controls Validation Team will be leading a team of Test Automation Engineers for PCS Controls and be involved in testing and validation of innovative controls solution for power conversion systems (PCS) in utility scale energy storage systems. Main responsibilities are:
Mentorship and Coaching: Provide guidance and mentorship to a geographically dispersed team of Test Automation Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Goal Setting: Establish SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for team members, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with other leaders within Fluence to synchronize team activities with broader company goals.
Technical Oversight: Ensure the team's technical expertise meets the needs for PCS Controls Validation, maintaining high standards in automation testing.
Budget Management: Prepare and continuously monitor budget estimates for PCS Controls validation, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
Hands-on Development: Collaborate with the team to develop, implement, and refine test automation tools. Analyze test results and provide actionable feedback to development teams to ensure comprehensive functionality testing.
Standards and Practices: Establish and champion best practices, engineering standards, and documentation protocols for test automation, verification, and validation of PCS controls.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage with Product and Program Management, Engineering Teams, Test Facilities, and external partners to streamline processes and enhance collaboration frameworks.
Test Environment Setup: Plan and oversee the setup of test equipment and assemblies, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and full hardware test rigs, to support robust testing environments.

Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree and 6-10 years of work experience in testing and/or development of controls SW for power conversion systems in the renewable energy industry.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with operation and application of PCS used for integration of renewable energy resources in power grids, hands-on experience with PCS SW development and validation. Knowledge of utility grid interconnection standards, regional grid codes, and utility-scale systems control and monitoring is highly desirable. Familiarity with grid-forming operating modes and applications is a plus.
