Our "AI and Optimization for Battery Analytics" internship is designed for graduate students deeply interested in AI, Machine Learning, Optimization, and Generative AI. This unique opportunity allows interns to tackle the challenges of energy storage and battery analytics by applying cutting-edge technologies. Candidates pursuing advanced degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields are encouraged to apply, especially those keen on exploring the innovative applications of Generative AI in the R&D of energy storage systems and battery technology.

Key Quaifications

    • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program, focusing on AI, Machine Learning, Optimization, and Generative AI.
    • A profound interest in the R&D of energy storage systems and battery technology, aiming to address complex challenges using advanced AI, optimization methods, and Generative AI.
    • Proficiency in Python, ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), with solid experience/passion in developing and applying generative AI models and techniques.
    • Understanding of optimization algorithms and their application in the R&D for enhancing battery performance and efficiency.
    • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, capable of conducting independent as well as collaborative research within a team.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex R&D findings and insights clearly and effectively to a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and apply AI models for innovative research in battery analytics and energy storage.
    • Engage in R&D projects focused on leveraging AI for breakthroughs in battery management systems, performance optimization, and reliability improvement.
    • Work closely with interdisciplinary R&D teams to incorporate advanced AI models into Fluence Energy's battery analytics frameworks, enhancing the technological capabilities of our energy storage solutions.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, energy storage technologies, and optimization methods, applying this knowledge to ongoing R&D initiatives.

    • Hands-on experience with applying advanced AI and machine learning techniques, and generative AI, to the R&D challenges in energy storage and battery technology.
    • Collaborative research experience alongside leading experts in machine learning, energy storage, and renewable energy.
    • A deep understanding of the practical applications and implications of AI and optimization in the energy sector, with a focus on innovation and technological advancement.
    • Enhanced research, analytical, and communication skills within a state-of-the-art R&D environment.
