About Us

Fluxergy is a rapidly growing in vitro diagnostics company innovating on the cutting-edge of laboratory testing. We’re developing the first and only multi-modal point-of-care platform that enables molecular, clinical chemistry, immunoassay, and hematology testing on the same system.

Our platform spans many markets including the clinical, veterinary, and food safety industries. We are seeking self-motivated problem solvers who are excited to help decentralize traditional laboratory infrastructure.

At the core of our company’s identity is a strong foundation in engineering. We take great pride in our commitment to critical thinking and pragmatic problem-solving through a modular and systemic perspective. We hold the conviction that transparent communication, coupled with the flexibility to adjust to evolving scenarios and the willingness to venture beyond familiar territories, is crucial to both our success and yours.

About the Role

Are you a highly skilled and innovative scientist with a passion for research and development in the field of Cytometry? If so, we would love to hear from you! This is an opportunity to join a team focused on making a significant impact on the biotechnology and diagnostics space through groundbreaking research and development.

As an R&D Scientist, you will be part of an expanding R&D team and will apply your expertise to design and develop the next generation of our multimodality in-vitro diagnostic system.  You will have the opportunity to operate in both R&D labs and on the production floor, and to work with a cross discipline team supporting the development of our microfluidic consumables as well as new testing assays for use in diagnostic testing, this includes interfacing with microfluidic and process engineers, assay development scientist, software, electrical and mechanical engineers.

Join us now to revolutionize the future of diagnostics and make a lasting impact on global healthcare. Apply today and be a part of the Fluxergy journey towards a healthier tomorrow!

Team Culture:

- Research Oriented
- Problem Solvers
- Free to Innovate
- Self-Starters
- Collaborative

What You Will Do

    • Utilize your comprehensive understanding of cell biology to develop effective hematology Point-of-Care solutions.
    • Design chemistries, mechanisms and protocols rooted in fundamental hematology/cell staining (e.g., fluorescence) principles that enable complete blood count measurements on the Fluxergy Analyzer.
    • Work closely with systems engineering and product development in all aspects related to assay development for the new product design.
    • Design and perform experiments to assist with novel microfluidic consumables at the  Point-of-Care.
    • Conduct in-depth DOEs based on a strong foundation of hematology and cell staining.
    • Analyze current testing outputs to identify issues and areas of improvement.
    • Design and perform experiments to identify root cause of failures and propose corrective actions.
    • Communicate results effectively, guiding the team through data and your observations on critical design decisions.

What You'll Need to Have

    • MS in biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field of study with minimum 3 years of experience in the Point-of-Care industry, or PhD with 1 year of industry experience.
    • Demonstrated extensive expertise in hematology and an in-depth understanding of the underlying principles of cell biology including mammalian cell staining, flow cytometry, and fluorescence microscopy.
    • Previous experience running Provider-Performed Microscopy (PPM) procedures.
    • Strong knowledge of developing various cell-based assay methods and detection techniques.
    • Extensive hands-on experience with fluorescent microscope, hemocytometers, flow cytometers, and cell counters.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Prior experience with data analysis tools to help with decision making.
    • Additional experience with statistical software(e.g., Matlab, Python, JMP) is a plus!
