Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Metal Roofer Apprentices (commercial) to fill 10 F/T vacancies in our Calgary and Edmonton branches (285221 Kleysen Way SE, Rockyview, Alberta, T1X 0K1 & 25672 - 111th Ave, Acheson, Alberta, T7X 6CB) in Alberta.

The position of “Metal Roofer Apprentice” is a skilled labour role, in which the Metal Roofer Apprentice works within a team, reporting to the site foreman to lay a variety of roofs and siding on industrial, institutional and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities include:

• Install, repair and replace of Architectural Metal Flashing and Cap Flashings

• Install, repair and replace of Architectural Cladding applications, including Steel Roofing and Wall finishes, Composite Aluminum Wall finishes, Architectural Rain Screen Systems, Composite Aluminum Wall panels and Custom Zinc or Copper applications

• Set up and use rigging and hoisting equipment

• Install, fabricate and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools

• Install Architectural sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 1-2 years' of Metal Roofing (commercial)

• Intermediate English or French skills

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to work and communicate with others

• Ability to install all types of metal roofing, wall cladding and composite aluminum panels

• Ability to work at heights

• Ability to learn and follow our extensive company safety policy

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent full time at 30-40 hours a week. Overtime after 8 hours a day, holidays, and after 44 hours a week, paid at time and a half;

• $28.85 - $29.50 per hour, depending on qualifications (starting wage for meeting minimum requirements is $28.85, wage scale increases based on additional experience). Salary increase is dependent on annual review
