Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Glazier Apprentice (commercial) to fill 10 F/T vacancies in the Calgary and Edmonton branches (285221 Kleysen Way SE, Rockyview, Alberta, T1X 0K1 & 25672 - 111th Ave, Acheson, Alberta, T7X 6CB). Other locations across Alberta will be required based on awarded projects.

The position of “Glazier Apprentice” is a skilled trade role, in which the Glazier Apprentice works within a team, reporting to the Site Foreman to glass and glazing products in commercial, industrial, and institutional structures.

Responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required

• Measure and mark glass and cut-glass using glass cutters or computerized cutter

• Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings, or exteriors of building

• Install, fit, fabricate, and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in industrial, institutional and commercial buildings

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years' glazing (commercial) experience

• Intermediate English or French skills

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to work and communicate with others

• Ability to work at heights

• Ability to learn and obey our extensive company safety policy

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent full time at 30-40 hours a week. Overtime after 8 hours a day, holidays, and 44 hours a week

• $28.85 - $30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

• Benefits include: Extended Medical, Dental, Vision, Accidental Death & Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, as well as optional Registered Retirement Savings Plan & Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan with company contribution up to $2500 annually.

• 6% vacation pay on regular earnings, 3.6% stat holiday on regular earnings.
