About the Opportunity 

We are seeking an enthusiastic customer-focused Pre-Sales Field Application Scientist to join our growing team. In this role, you will act as a key technical advisor, working alongside our sales team to qualify leads, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and design custom solutions for prospective customers.  As a trusted expert, you will engage with researchers, data scientists, and clinicians to showcase Flywheel’s value and demonstrate how our solutions can meet their unique challenges in medical imaging data management, analysis, and AI development.

Responsibilities

    • Assist in qualifying sales leads from a technical, scientific, and commercial perspective. 
    • Conduct discovery interviews to understand customer use cases, workflows, and specific needs. 
    • Create and articulate compelling value propositions that demonstrate how Flywheel can address customer pain points. 
    • Develop and conduct tailored product demos, highlighting features and solutions that align with customer’s specific requirements. 
    • Develop and deliver conference presentations, webinars, and technical trainings to showcase Flywheel products and successful applications. 
    • Work closely with product, engineering, and marketing, to provide customer insights that help shape future product development. 
    • Contribute to the development of sales collateral and technical documentation to improve sales process and internal/ external trainings. 
    • Stay informed of industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements to help guide customers in their decision-making. 
    • Scope, develop, and document Trials and/or Proofs of Concept (PoC) based on customer requirements to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities. 
    • Provide product feasibility analysis and support sales representatives during sales engagements. 
    • Take the lead in responding to requests for proposals (RFP) and requests for information (RFI) to secure new business opportunities. 
    • Attend industry events to network with prospective customers, partners, and competitors. 
    • Evaluate competitors and partners to stay informed of industry trends and opportunities that can enhance Flywheel’s market positioning. 
    • Provide insights and feedback to the sales and product development teams to support the continuous improvement of Flywheel’s solutions. 
    • Comply with company policies, including security, confidentiality, and data protection requirements, to maintain a secure work environment. 

What would make you a great fit

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field). 
    • Strong technical background in medical imaging, data management, or AI development 
    • 5+ years of direct experience in a technical sales or customer-facing role. 
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
    • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective product demonstrations, technical proposals, and tailored customer solutions. 
    • Experience coordinating and conducting software trials, pilots, and/or Proofs of Concept (PoC). 
    • Strong problem-solving skills, effective cross-functional collaboration and ability to develop high-level technical propositions to address customer pain points. 
    • Ability to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, events, and support activities.
