As Chief Marketing Officer at Fnatic, you will have a career defining opportunity to build the biggest brand in esports, sharing our legacy of performance with the world through shaping a Marketing function that both ensures we deliver on our immediate goals, but also provides the foundation to scale rapidly and expand globally.

You will be an exceptional leader, able to align our marketing efforts with our company mission and build a cohesive brand across the various strands of our multi-faceted business. You’ll oversee our core Marketing, Content. Creators, Growth, PR & Communications, and Studios functions, and champion the establishment of audience-led performance metrics and business insights. In some ways you’ll play the ‘scientist’ to our sea of creatives, intuitively knowing how to leverage both approaches to delight our existing fan and customer base of millions, and attract ever increasing audiences to our brand and products.

You’ll have a direct impact on Fnatic’s commercial success, overseeing the creation of unique and industry leading activations for our brand partners, through to attention-grabbing product campaigns for our latest Gear and Apparel releases. With a great understanding of youth culture, you'll know how we can speak authentically to the billions of gamers globally and become the definitive home of gaming performance.

Your mission is to:

    • Devise and own Fnatic's marketing strategy that maximises growth in Fnatic's brand influence on the world, pioneering a unique audience > brand > product relationship
    • Establish a data-driven approach within Marketing, defining the metrics the business should care about and feedback associated market/audience insights
    • Define, build and manage the appropriate channel mix to achieve an integrated marketing approach across our business pillars
    • Work closely with Fnatic's creative studio leadership, ensuring output is aligned with marketing brief/vision and strategy, and that sufficient time is given to ensure campaigns are adequately supported/resourced
    • Help shape content and community functions that are deeply in tune with gamers and youth culture globally, and consistently engage and grow our audience
    • Support the launch of new products, and provide insights to maximise market potential
    • Oversee Growth initiatives, identifying opportunities through experimentation and delivering great return on investment
    • Ensure the Marketing function is positioned to deliver award-winning activations for our commercial partners, and that all deliverables mutually enhance Fnatic and our partner brands
    • Create capability within the Marketing function to provide meaningful insights that can inform new business activities/investments
    • Oversee PR and communications, defining desired messaging to grow our reputation across consumer, investor and corporate channels
    • Ensure our brand activity effectively utilises our creator, influencer and pro-gaming talent, maximising our investment and enhancing our appeal to emerging talent
    • Line manage Marketing vertical leads, taking an active role in their ongoing development and growing the overall capability of the Marketing function
    • Contribute to the broader growth of Fnatic as a senior leader within the business

We're looking for:

    • Extensive experience as a marketing leader for a global consumer brand
    • Understanding of youth culture and trends in media consumption
    • A strong track record of driving commercial success through marketing across your career
    • A resourceful approach and preference for in-house solutions rather than defaulting to agency
    • An innovative mindset but one that is always driven by data and insights
    • A motivational people manager, a calm voice in an ever-changing environment
    • Startup experience, and comfort in things moving fast
    • International expertise, with oversight of activity in multiple global territories
    • Previous ownership of large marketing budgets, without being overly reliant on them
    • Demonstrable success maximising organic opportunities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, other languages desirable
