Position Summary
Focus Financial Partners is seeking a detail-oriented AP Specialist. This resource is responsible for managing and executing the company's outgoing payments, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders. This role supports financial accuracy, maintains strong vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and documentation.
- Reconcile processed payments by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Manage weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and vendor files.
- Assist in month-end closing by preparing journal entries and AP aging reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and applicable tax laws (e.g., 1099 reporting).
Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounts payable practices and general accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, GAAP, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Concur is a plus
- High level of discretion and attention to detail when handling sensitive data.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $55,000-$65,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
