Product Development – Product Engineering

The Product Engineer is a member of the Product Development team which develops and manages current and future Fonteva software products.  He/she oversees Product Engineers, who as a team, are responsible for designing, testing, deploying and implementing company products, as well as enhancements, customized software solutions and issue resolution for customers.  He/she will build managed packages on the platform, using his/her expertise in Java, .NET, Salesforce's Apex and VisualForce, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other technologies.  The Product Engineer also contributes to the growth and evolution of Fonteva products.

The Senior Salesforce Engineer will perform the following job duties:

    • Work closely with Product team members to refactor, design, develop, and extend functionality of the core AMS/CRM product
    • Understand and enforce Salesforce best practices
    • Identify and enforce code standards, best practices and design patterns
    • Mentor developers and review pull requests, ensuring that checked out branches are appropriately merged with master; mitigate merge conflicts/rebase issues within repos
    • Use source code control to track and associate all changes with appropriate work items; view “blame” (as necessary) to resolve issues and coach junior developers
    • Perform code reviews
    • Help build and manage Salesforce development environments
    • Code business logic using Apex classes and triggers  
    • Code user interface using Visualforce and Javascript
    • Code comprehensive unit tests in Apex
    • Use REST and SOAP to integrate with external systems
    • Demonstrate in-progress and completed features frequently, and act on feedback
    • Research and fix defects as identified


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience developing solutions in C#, Java or Apex
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing solutions in Apex on the Salesforce platform
    • Experience with Scrum / Agile Development methodology
    • Experience with Test Automation and Continuous Integration is a plus
