About the role:
The Senior Manager, Business Development will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with food vendors across the U.S., as well as cultivating and maintaining current partnerships, and driving operational excellence and revenue growth through these partnerships. We are looking for someone who enjoys both crafting strategy and rolling their sleeves up to execute on the strategy. You will work with product, engineering, sales, operations, marketing, and other teams to make your vision a reality. You are passionate about improving people’s lives on a national scale through the power of nutrition and technology. You're eager to join a mission-driven team; a successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment. This role requires an individual who strives to simplify and build scalable solutions that support our growing food marketplace and our mission to bring healthy food to those who need it most.

You will:

    • Grow the FoodsMart Vendor Program by recruiting and onboarding medically tailored meals, fresh produce box, grocer, and other food vendors
    • Build out our food marketplace in key markets and nationally, to align with client expectations and contract terms
    • Develop co-marketing relationships with food vendors
    • Manage negotiations and  contracting; from inception through contract closure
    • Determine potential food partners based on business requirements, food budgets, source conversations with partner stakeholders, execute on contracts and work across organization to ensure partner/product  implementation
    • Prioritize opportunities based on speed and impact
    • Expand existing partner relationships to maximize geographic reach, service offerings and revenue potential
    • Analyze market data and metrics to inform strategic decision-making
    • Develop vendor metrics in conjunction with the food operations team,  manage vendor performance against SLAs,  KPIs  and  pricing requirements
    • Develop vendor assortment and growth strategies
    • Continuously audit to improve the customer experience and business performance

    • An exceptional communicator
    • Collaborative and able to work with cross-functional teams to drive growth and success
    • Skilled at creating and delivering compelling presentations to potential partners
    • Resourceful -- You are happy juggling many priorities concurrently and being creative with solutions to move fast

You have:

    • 5+ years of partnerships management experience in the food sector
    • Proven track record of driving growth and revenue through contract execution and ongoing partner management
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Negotiation experience and success 
    • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment,
    • Strong understanding of market trends and customer needs
    • Experience in a startup environment is a plus
$120,000 - $145,000 a year

Location: Remote
Base Salary Range: $120,000/yr to $145,000/yr + Bonus + Equity

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
