We are Leigh Fish. A proud tale of the town of Leigh, the Pacific ocean on our doorstep, and our daily hunt for the finest catch. 

We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Foodstuffs North Island Limited and since 1957 we have expanded our global reach and markets we supply. Starting with just New Zealand, our catch now graces the tables of restaurants throughout Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and of course Aotearoa New Zealand, showcasing the best fish that our little town can offer.
 
About the role   

Working closely with the Finance Controller you will be hands on, involved in all things finance related for this small but mighty organisation. 
The variety and scope of this role is vast.  You will be responsible for, provide support with or begin to learn every inch of the financials.  Opportunities with this much breadth and scope are rare!


·       You will provide financial assistance in the areas of batch payments, journals, monthly reporting, vendor accounts, P & L preparation, reconciliations, balance sheet, month end, credit requests, foreign exchange management and so much more.
 
·       There will also be the opportunity to work with the Management Accountant providing support for tax returns, general ledgers, GST process.
 
·       An extra component of this role will be to develop into a super user of Business Central, Solver and Xero so if you have a systems ‘bent’ all the better.
 

About you 

You will be a qualified Accountant, with a good baseline understanding and application of financial processes and tasks.  Systems experience (MSD365 Business Central and Solver or similar is ideal) and you will need to be hungry to learn – this is a role that spans everything!

Well-developed interpersonal skills, curiosity, a naturally inquisitive nature and one who likes to ask questions and problem solve is what you will bring to this team.
