Te Tūranga – About the role   

As a Product Owner within the Enterprise Systems team, you’ll be at the heart of transforming how one of NewZealand’s largest retailers delivers value. This is your opportunity to own and shape products that keep our trading operations running smoothly while creating outstanding experiences for our customers. You’ll work at the exciting intersection of business strategy, customer needs, and technical delivery - leading cross‑functional teams to turn ideas into impactful solutions. In our fast‑paced FMCG environment, your ability to adapt, prioritise, and collaborate will be the key to delivering success.
Working in a truly agile way, you’ll take ownership of your product vision and roadmap, working to develop trust and partnering closely with merchandise, commercial teams, and technical leads to turn strategy into reality. You’ll lead discovery and delivery with focus and purpose, using data, insights, and stakeholder feedback to ensure your team delivers real outcomes that matter. You’ll be responsible for:
·       Own and align the product vision and roadmap across multiple squads/products, ensuring delivery of commercial outcomes and customer value at scale,
 o   with full engagement/alignment and support of the business colleagues you represent – developing a trusted relationship and able to effectively incorporate their needs
 o  in alignment with our solution architecture ensure solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and built for the long term
·       Leading discovery and delivery, by leveraging data and customer insights to guide decisions and evaluate outcomes- thereby advancing our commitment to becoming a data-driven organisation
·       Owning and refining the product backlog so your team always has a clear, well‑prioritised path forward, with clear acceptance criteria to deliver business impact
·       Acting as a product champion within your squad and across the organisation, inspiring clarity, alignment, and engagement
·       Collaborating with other Product Owners to ensure smooth integration of new features into our product ecosystem
·       Driving continuous improvement, fostering a learning mindset, and evolving ways of working
·       Building strong relationships across the business to connect people, ideas, and outcomes
·       Ensuring your team is set up for success with the right capacity, focus, and engagement to deliver exceptional results

You’ll bring:
·       Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills, with proven ability to translate insights into impactful solutions that meet business goals.
·       Excellent communication, facilitation, and planning skills, able to adapt style and techniques to the audience and situation.
·       Commercial acumen with the ability to connect product delivery to business strategy and value.
·       Technical fluency, ideally with SAP retail experience, and a solid understanding of business processes and modern development practices.
·       Confidence working in ambiguity, with the ability to prioritise, plan, and deliver in a fast‑moving environment.
·       A collaborative mindset, able to build strong relationships across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
·       Experience leading teams or scrum teams to deliver value and manage performance effectively.
·       Exceptional organisation, adaptability, and a preference for direct collaboration and practical solutions.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in a related field (or equivalent experience).
·       3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in an Agile environment.
·       Proven track record of delivering products in a fast‑paced, results‑driven setting.
