Our Commercial Operations Group are a financial ‘supermarket’ delivering a broad range of solutions to support the Co-op across commercial finance, store ownership, funding, financial planning & management, data analysis & reporting, accounting & transactional services including payroll, AR & AP & master data solutions.
Te Tūranga – About the role
This newly created role within our Members Accounting Team, will drive the monthly close and statutory reporting processes, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across our store network.
You’ll lead a team of accountants and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class financial support. This opportunity will see you working strategically with a future focused lens but will also require you to dig in the dirt and problem solve as you go.

- Lead month-end and year-end close processes across the store network
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance.
- Mentor a team of accountants
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support business change
- Collaborate with outsource partners and internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives
He kōrero mōu - About you
With a professional Accounting Qualification (CIMA, CA, CFA) and NZICA membership, senior level experience ideally Big 4 or large enterprise – you will bring expertise in financial and management accounting, governance, and risk.
Strong leadership with a natural flair for coaching and teaching, a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement, and the ability to roll up the sleeves and problem solve at grass roots level.
You will have experience with SAP, MYOB, XERO and a passion for finance automation, innovation and be excited by change initiatives!
