Te Tūranga – About the role 

Are you passionate about building smart, scalable integration solutions that power seamless data flow across systems? As our Data Integration Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern integration frameworks that connect everything from POS and eCommerce to loyalty platforms and supplier systems. You’ll be the go-to expert for ensuring real-time, secure, and reliable data movement — enabling better decision-making and smoother customer and partner experiences.

Working with cloud-native technologies (primarily Microsoft Azure), you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver robust API, ETL, and event-driven integrations. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical skills while influencing architecture, automation, and data quality standards across the business.

In this role, you will:
-       Lead the design and development of scalable, secure integrations across Liquorland’s digital and operational ecosystem.
-       Build and manage real-time API and ETL flows using Azure and other cloud-based integration tools.
-       Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to align integration designs with business needs.
-       Define and implement data quality, logging, and error-handling frameworks to ensure reliability and traceability.
-       Contribute to integration architecture, documentation, and reusable patterns that support long-term growth and efficiency.

He kōrero mōu - About you

You’re a skilled integration engineer with a strong foundation in software development and a passion for designing robust, secure, and scalable solutions. With a proven background in API and data integration, you’re confident working across enterprise systems and cloud-native environments, particularly within Microsoft Azure. You thrive in a collaborative environment, but you're equally comfortable owning complex solutions from end to end.

Clear communication, attention to detail, and a drive for continuous improvement are second nature to you. Whether you’re partnering with third-party vendors or translating technical designs for stakeholders, you bring both the technical expertise and the people skills needed to deliver seamless, future-ready integrations.

You’ll bring:
-       5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in API and data integration design and development.
-       Advanced knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and secure standards like OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT.
-       Deep experience with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Function Apps, Data Factory, APIM).
-       Strong grasp of event-driven architecture, messaging systems (e.g. Kafka, Event Grid), and CI/CD practices.
-       Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a knack for problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
