Our Retail Operations and Transformation team maintain a strong focus on SAP support, in-store operations, and checkouts across all three retail banners. Monitoring a range of important metrics, the team are also involved in new store openings, ownership changes, and various business initiatives.
Te Tūranga – About the role
The Retail Product Manager focuses on managing customer value products from a business, commercial and customer perspective. Please note this is a business/commercial role rather than an IT or technical product manager role.
You’ll define the strategic direction and vision of our customer focused products, ensuring alignment with strategy and that we are best placed to support our market demands and opportunities. Collaborating cross-functionally, you’ll drive product innovation and effectively leverage customer focused products, technologies and services in our retail channels.
To do this, some of what you’ll be responsible for is:
· Define the Product Strategy and Vision to define and communicate a clear product vision based on market research and customer needs that aligns with business strategy.
· Own and clearly articulate the product roadmap, ensuring priorities are aligned with business goals, customer impact and organisational capacity.
· Lead and inspire a team of business product owners to deliver exceptional product experiences and effectively manage retail products through the product lifecycle.
· Establish a clear Product Management/Ownership practice, fostering a culture of best practice, ensuring effective ways of working, clear improvement environment, and effective communication within the team.
· Support each product owner to define and drive the product strategy in alignment with business objectives and customer needs, collaborate with key stakeholders to shape and prioritise product roadmaps maximising time to value and learning, and ensure delivery of product outcomes.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of customer solutions, make recommendations and drive appropriate decision making.
· Work closely with the Retail Operations team to ensure they are well placed to embed any change in our store network, identify additional opportunities, and maximise the benefits
· Utilise customer data and market trends to drive continuous improvement of retail products and identify new opportunities to add value to our customers and contribute toward revenue growth, customer loyalty and/or a reduced cost to serve.

You’ll be an experienced commercial Product Manager who understands the market, the customer, and how retail products can be innovative and deliver significant value. You’ll have a proven track record of defining product strategies and creating roadmaps that drive measurable business outcomes.
You’ll also have:
· Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and problem solving abilities.
· An analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive decisions and measure product performance and success.
· Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
· Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to recruit, motivate, inspire and guide your team to success.
