Our products provide customers with choices when they shop at any New World, PAK’nSAVE or Four Square store. Foodstuffs Own Brands is a national organisation responsible for managing own brand products across both Foodstuffs North Island and Foodstuffs South Island Co-operatives.
We’re passionate about developing customer-led products for every New Zealander and develop and procure Foodstuffs’ private label offering under its brands Pams, Pams Value and Pams Finest.

What an opportunity to a manage the full lifecycle of product development!
From supporting product range proposals and reformulations to ensuring commercialisation aligns with customer expectations and target pricing. As an ambassador for Own Brands, you will champion product excellence and customer value through strong supplier partnerships and effective project execution.
Staying informed on food trends and customer insights, you will be collaborating across teams to deliver category action plans, supporting product and packaging briefs and ensuring compliance with brand and safety standards.
This opportunity also oversees the management of test kitchen operations, sample management, sensory evaluations so another area of NPD to add to your repertoire.
He kōrero mōu - About you
Bringing a strong foundation in food science and product development, with hands-on experience in the FMCG/retail or similar sectors, you will combine your technical expertise with a flair for creative value add ways of working.
We are looking for our next Foodie who can offer:
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related field, with practical experience in packaged goods development
- Understanding of food codes and regulations in New Zealand, applying scientific principles to product formulation
- Ability to utilise market insight tools like AC Nielsen, Dunnhumby, and Mintel to inform customer-driven decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in cross-functional collaboration and delivering presentations & information to a range of audience types
- A passionate foodie with a creative palate, exceptional time management , and a proactive work ethic, always curious to learn more!
