JOB SUMMARY: The AVP, Technical Product Owner, Digital Banking is responsible for strategically bridging the gap between business needs and complex technical execution. This position is instrumental in translating strategic product vision into precise technical requirements, ensuring seamless integration with our vendor solutions, and driving the roadmap and feature evolution of our core banking and payment products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Own the "What" from a technical feasibility and vendor capability perspective. Define and refine the technical aspects of the product roadmap for core banking and payment solutions, ensuring it aligns with the overall business strategy and anticipates future technical needs and vendor capabilities 
    • Collaborate with the Product Owner to translate high-level business goals into actionable, technically sound features and epics, clearly articulating the technical value proposition 
    • Proactively research and assess new vendor capabilities, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement 
    • Partner with the Product Owner and Tech Lead on technical trade-offs, potential technical debt implications, and the technical complexities of various product options 
    • Work directly with Finxact and Alacriti to understand their roadmaps, influence their feature development where relevant, and ensure their solutions meet our technical and business needs 
    • Work with internal engineering teams and business stakeholders to align on roadmap and prioritization 
    • Partner with Tech Lead and Product Owner to complete detailed technical specifications and integration requirements for both internal and vendor development, ensuring clear understanding and alignment 
    • Manage and track technical dependencies with vendor roadmaps and releases 
    • Decompose complex business requirements into detailed, unambiguous technical user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria that account for system interactions, data flows, and non-functional requirements (scalability, performance, security) 
    • Collaborate with the Tech Lead to refine user stories for technical clarity 
    • Prioritize technical enabler stories, technical debt, and platform improvements alongside business features, ensuring a balanced and sustainable product backlog 
    • Perform other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field required; Master’s Degreepreferred 
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Technical Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Solutions Architect role within the financial services industry, specifically focusing on core banking, payments, or digital banking platforms required 
    • Demonstrated deep technical expertise in core banking systems Finxact, Revolut, Thought Machine, Port X) 
    • Proven hands-on experience working extensively with and integrating major banking vendor solutions. Direct, in-depth experience with Alacriti, Q2, Alloy, MANTL, or similar core banking/payment/onboarding platforms is highly desirable, including understanding their APIs, data structures, and implementation methodologies 
    • Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture) and cloud computing principles 
    • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documentation, including API specifications, sequence diagrams, and detailed system designs 
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of breaking down complex technical challenges into manageable and well-defined requirements 
    • Solid experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment, with a strong understanding of backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release management. 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)   
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillswith the ability to bridge the gap between highly technical and non-technical stakeholders, and effectively mentor team members 
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail    
    • Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills   
    • Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented  
    • Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment   
    • Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach

The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. $145,000 (entry level qualifications) to $167,000 (highly experienced).
