Position Overview:
As the Quality Inspection Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality inspection process and leading a team of inspectors during a new second shift we are adding. Your role will involve ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and standards, maintaining adherence to quality control procedures, and effectively communicating with other teams to resolve any quality-related issues. In addition, proficiency in CMM programming is essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead and supervise a team of quality inspectors during the second shift, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
    • Conduct inspections of machined components at various stages of the production process, utilizing advanced measuring equipment and tools.
    • Perform CMM programming and operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for dimensional and geometric measurement of components.
    • Analyze inspection data and prepare comprehensive reports, highlighting any deviations from specifications and recommending corrective actions.
    • Train and mentor inspectors on quality control techniques, inspection procedures, and the proper use of measuring equipment.
    • Investigate and resolve quality issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspection results, including documentation of non-conformities, corrective actions, and rework processes.
    • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality control systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.

Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience in quality inspection within machining.
    • Strong knowledge of quality control techniques, inspection methods, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
    • Proficiency in programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including experience with CMM software, PC-DMIS.
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to guide and motivate a team.
    • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, articulate inspection findings, and propose corrective actions.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
