JOB SUMMARY:

For Our Future and For Our Future Action Fund are seeking an HR/Operations Manager who has experience to facilitate day-to-day operations. The HR/Operations Manager will be responsible for supporting the hiring process, inventory management, logistical support, payroll assistance, helping staff navigate compliance and Human Resources issues, administering our Health and Safety system, and other HR/operations duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will bring all or most of the following skills and attributes to this position: a commitment to teamwork; have an exceptional ability to stay organized, manage their time effectively, and juggle several priorities that may change quickly; and finally possess a keen attention to detail.

Work will be scheduled in the evenings and/or weekends. This position requires creativity and flexibility due to the fast-paced nature and mission of our organization. This position is based in Wisconsin. The HR/Operations Manager will report to the Operations Director. 

This is a full-time position through at least November 11, 2022.

Essential Functions

    • Provide excellent customer service to employees and serve as the first point of contact for human resources inquiries & concerns.
    • Own major tasks as directed within the Operations and HR department, including but not limited to administration of our Health and Safety protocols, delivering policy updates to our full staff, ordering supplies, and more.
    • Order, store, ship, and organize all office supplies & equipment, including ensuring equipment is returned at the end of the election.
    • Assist with in-state hiring and tracking through HR software.
    • Perform phone screens and schedule interviews.
    • Conduct interviews and reference checks.
    • Update internal operation procedures documents as needed.
    • Coordinate with Operations Director to schedule team meetings and to provide follow-ups.
    • Support the HR/Operations Director in managing and resolving operational issues.
    • Manage all office orders on a regular basis. Store, file and retrieve corporate documents and reports as and when needed.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing letters and packages.
    • Perform general office administrative and clerical duties.
    • Maintain logs and spreadsheets for all office activities.
    • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Skills and Qualifications

    • Extraordinary attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with administering databases, payroll and benefits preferred.
    • Experience managing staff and/or interns preferred.
    • Experience working on projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment in high-pressure situations. Flexibility and a willingness to take on new tasks as the responsibilities as the position evolves.
    • Commitment to the mission; Dedication to grassroots, local organizing and empowering state/local organizations to lead; understanding of local community-based organizations and respect for their leaders and programs.
    • Resourceful problem solver.
    • Reliable access to functioning computers and internet access.
    • Familiarity with G-Suite and Google Sheets preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Basic computer literacy and database skills.
    • Experience working or volunteering on a field campaign is a plus.

The salary for this position is based on experience and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.

Expected Hours of Work

    • Normal hours of business are from 9:00 AM to at least 6:00 PM Monday thru Friday, however employees will be required to work outside of normal business hours including weekends and nights.
    • Employees are required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle or other key deadlines, and generally not allowed to take off during blackout periods. Emergencies are not affected by this policy.

Work Environment

    • Employees will be required to work and interact, in an office environment or otherwise, with coworkers, volunteers, voters, or community partners on a regular basis. If state and government stay-at-home orders, phased reopening orders, or other factors related to the COVID-19 virus (or any other reason) limit For Our Future’s ability to engage safely in in-person work, employees may be assigned other duties to be conducted from their homes.
