For Our Future Nevada is seeking a creative individual who has experience in digital organizing and leveraging social media platforms. You’ll create compelling online content that educates, inspires, engages, drives messaging and pushes people to take action on our various campaigns. This is your chance to make a difference while honing increasingly valuable skills for any communicator working in the digital age.

We are looking for a quick learner, clear communicator, a new media harnesser, an organizer, and a team player who will meet new challenges with ambition and creativity to add to our team.

This position runs through at least November 17, 2022

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Maintaining and routinely updating all of our various digital organizing channels, social media platforms with original content  including; copy, graphics and video, and other types of media.
    • Creating compelling graphics, video and other original digital content that will drive engagement.
    • Harnessing digital organizing tools such as P2P and broadcast texting and Slack to support voter contact goals, volunteer recruitment, and community engagement.
    • Overseeing the email program and helping boost response rates and subscriber base.
    • Supporting on-the-ground digital work, including live streaming events, and capturing people’s stories.
    • Expanding the social media reach of For Our Future Nevada and progressive partners to push our message directly to targeted audiences.
    • Participating in key coalition meetings.
    • Assisting with the execution of earned media events for For Our Future Nevada as well as other progressive partners.
    • Identifying new digital communications tools and tactics.
    • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A passion for progressive causes and advocating and communicating authentic stories about Nevadans;
    • At least 1 year experience with email marketing, SMS platform management, digital content development, and social media account management required
    • Proficient in social media content creation and deep understanding of internet culture and love learning new technologies and thinking outside the box using existing technology;
    • Demonstrated proficiency working with outreach CRM systems, required; experience with digital organizing and/or Votebuilder/VAN/EveryAction platforms, preferred;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
    • Possess a keen attention to detail;
    • Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) preferred;
    • Experience with digital organizing and planning in support of field, electoral, and/or issue campaigns, preferred;
    • Creativity and a good eye for design and proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc.) required;
    • Comfort with recording people's personal video stories; video editing and production skills preferred;
    • Demonstrated experience working on projects in a fast-paced environment, juggling several priorities that may change quickly, and meeting tight deadlines;
    • A solutions-oriented approach and a willingness to take initiative and think critically;
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a busy office with personal enthusiasm, optimism, and a sense of humor;
    • Access to a reliable laptop is ideal;
    • Must have reliable access to transportation.

The salary for this position is based on experience and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. For Our Future offers the following benefits to all full-time employees:

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Employees may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights.  Be required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle, and generally not allowed to take more than 2-3 days off consecutively, unless it’s an emergency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees will be required to work and interact, in an office environment or otherwise, with coworkers, volunteers, voters, or community partners on a regular basis. If state and government stay-at-home orders, phased reopening orders, or other factors related to the COVID-19 virus (or any other reason) limit For Our Future’s ability to engage safely in in-person work, employees may be assigned other duties to be conducted from their homes.
