The Role

FFA is looking to hire a full-time Impact Associate to support the execution of our impact strategy and ensure we accurately track our progress toward making a meaningful, measurable impact across Africa. The successful candidate will report to the Embedded Impact and Learning Director while working closely with different FFA teams to support various aspects of impact measurement and management. The candidate must have a good understanding of impact measurement and management frameworks, processes, methods, and tools. 

Responsibilities
Support venture impact analysis throughout FFA’s investment process (e.g., during screening, qualifying, and due diligence).
Craft venture-level theories of change/results chains and assess venture impact potential and risks.
Conduct additional research on opportunities and risks to support ventures in defining and solidifying their impact on key stakeholders within their ecosystems and value chains.
Develop venture-level KPIs aligned to the business model and impact potential as well as broader FFA strategy.
Conduct onboarding sessions to support founders with impact-related measurement and reporting.
Build venture-level impact capacity by suggesting and/or setting up tools and processes that streamline impact measurement and management.
Support ongoing portfolio and organizational-level data collection, monitoring, and reporting efforts as per our FFA impact strategy.
Contribute to the design and execution of venture-level impact validation studies to understand how solutions have contributed to specific outcomes for users and other stakeholders.

Candidate Profile
Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within an impact investment firm, impact accelerator/incubator, private sector development program, etc. 
Knowledge and understanding of key frameworks and methodologies in impact measurement and management (e.g., theories of change, IMP’s 5 Dimensions of Impact, GIIN, IRIS+, UNPRI, etc.)
Understanding of venture building, accelerators, and investments in early-stage startups in AfricaAbility to deploy a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools
Appetite for collecting and analyzing data to produce meaningful reports to diverse  stakeholders and audiences
Experience in data visualization tools like Power BI, google studio, QlikView or Tableau is a plus
