Fuego Payment Analyst

The Fuego Payment Analyst is responsible for managing the payment activity process for Fuego, Fourth's Earned Wage Access solution. Duties include timely collection and repayment, resolving outstanding balances, and coordinating with sales to assess client credit profiles.

The Role. . .

    • Utilizes internal and external settlement systems and data to prepare and complete balancing customer accounts and cash account reconciliations.
    • Utilizes settlement systems/data and bank-provided systems to prepare and record general ledger journal entries.
    • Monitors and/or processes payments and payment files in conjunction with settlement procedures and policies.
    • Analyzes and researches variances; provides logical/concise explanations for variances and/or fluctuations in a timely manner and assists with variance resolution as needed.
    • Coordinate with Finance for approval of ACH payments, reverse wire and/or bad debt write offs.
    • Analyze/Monitor payment data/trends to mitigate operational risk exposure.
    • Works with internal and/or external clients and service providers to resolve out of balance conditions, fund movement errors and/or transaction processing inquiries.
    • Track and Monitor usage and adoption rates and escalate recommendations to gain greater penetration.
    • Report, troubleshoot, and take ownership of incidents through resolution.
    • Investigate user use cases with an eye for iteration on existing processes.
    • Make recommendations for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
    • Analyze client escalated credit exceptions and determine approval/denial status.

The Ideal Candidate. . .

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
    • 1-3 years of experience in operations or finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
    • At least 1 year of experience in cash management, cash applications or credit & collections roles
    • Knowledge of cash management, financial analysis, account reconciliation and balancing processes
    • Knowledge of banking and transaction processing (i.e. ACH and wire processing) including concepts and principles – demonstrates industry and technical capability
    • Knowledge of credit and risk profiles and collections activities
    • Attention to detail, accuracy; ability to maintain confidentiality – demonstrates risk awareness and compliance
    • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
    • Strong and cross functional communication skills
