FreeBalance is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Director, Global Marketing to lead our global marketing strategy and execution. This role will guide the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans to enhance brand visibility, strengthen government engagement, and support revenue growth across international markets. The Senior Director will work closely with the marketing leadership team, including the Director of Marketing Communications, and collaborate across departments to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with FreeBalance’s mission of delivering innovative financial management solutions for governments worldwide.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Global Marketing Strategy: Shape and drive a cohesive global marketing strategy, including brand positioning, demand generation, and government engagement initiatives, to support FreeBalance’s growth in public sector markets.
- Marketing Communications Alignment: Collaborate with the Marketing Communications function to ensure consistent messaging across digital, print, and social media channels, in line with global brand objectives.
- Drive Campaign Execution: Lead the design and rollout of multi-channel marketing campaigns targeted at government audiences, including senior officials, policymakers, and technical evaluators. Ensure campaigns are segmented, tested, tracked, and analyzed to optimize ROI and strengthen FreeBalance’s visibility with decision-makers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, product development, and customer success teams to create unified brand experiences and support engagement with government stakeholders.
- Market Research and Insights: Analyze public financial management trends, government digital transformation priorities, and competitor positioning. Use insights on government buying behaviour and procurement processes to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Foster innovation and collaboration within the marketing team, providing guidance and support to help colleagues achieve high performance and professional growth.
- Event and Thought Leadership: Represent FreeBalance at industry conferences, government forums, and webinars, delivering compelling presentations and post-event analyses to enhance brand authority.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the global marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years in marketing leadership roles, with at least 5 years in global marketing strategy, preferably in B2G, technology, or public sector industries. Proven track record in designing and executing impactful campaigns for government stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in digital marketing, analytics, or leadership are a plus.
- Digital and Data-Driven Marketing Proficiency in digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing) and analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and optimize performance.

- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and inspire teams, with experience guiding senior marketing professionals, fostering collaboration, and driving results.
- Global Perspective Expertise in international markets, cross-cultural communication, and government engagement, with a knack for tailoring strategies to diverse audiences.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and align messaging globally.
- Nice-to-Have Experience in government technology or financial management solutions, with an understanding of public sector procurement processes.
