As a Technical Consultant - Hosting and Data Migration at FreeBalance, you will have the
opportunity to contribute to our on-going success by delivering quality and timely
technical services during the implementation, roll-out, support and sustenance of our
products to our customers for all project deployments. Drawing upon your technical /
systems / product / database / solutions expertise and serve as a subject matter expert
for technical analysis and specification efforts.

Main responsibilities:

    • Analyze and Resolve Technical Issues: Troubleshoot customer issues related to defects, enhancements, and technical challenges, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.
    • Assess Technical Requirements: Evaluate and address technical needs by providing defect fixes, procedural updates, or configuration adjustments to the FreeBalance Accountability Suite, offering guidance and technical expertise to the customer.
    • Understand and Optimize Customer Environments: Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s current technical infrastructure and integration points, providing recommendations to optimize system performance and ensure seamless operation of the FreeBalance Accountability Suite.
    • Lead Deployment and Support: Act as the primary technical liaison during the deployment of new features, functions, and modules, providing 1st and 2nd level support during the post-implementation phase and ensuring a smooth transition.
    • Deliver Technical Support to Government Users: Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support through the government’s internal issue tracking system, ensuring compliance with SLAs and resolving reported issues effectively.
    • Manage Issue Tracking: Log and track all customer-reported issues, including defects, enhancements, modifications, and operational queries, in the FreeBalance Customer Portal, escalating them as needed for internal analysis and resolution.
    • Support Hosting and Data Migration: Oversee hosting and data migration activities, ensuring data integrity, proper system configuration, and minimal disruption during transitions, while working closely with the customer and internal teams.
    • Collaborate and Contribute to System Improvements: Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues, improve system performance, and contribute to product enhancements based on customer feedback.
    • Conduct Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities with customers and internal teams to enhance system understanding and promote best practices.
    • Travel: Be available to travel as required, providing onsite support, training, or system assessments to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.

Qualifications:

    • University/College Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Development, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with enterprise software systems, including application software, database systems, and middleware solutions.
    • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI), dashboard, and reporting solutions using open-source tools such as Pentaho, BIRT, Crystal Reports, and/or Bootstrap.
    • Proficiency in ANSI SQL, with hands-on experience in administering, optimizing, and troubleshooting databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL.
    • Experience configuring and managing middleware solutions such as Tomcat Servlet Engine, JBoss Application Server, or other industry-standard platforms.
    • Knowledge of database clustering, performance monitoring, and optimization techniques would be considered an asset.
    • Experience with both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, including system administration and troubleshooting.
    • Certifications in RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud hosting platforms such as AWS or Azure would be considered a strong asset.
    • Excellent client management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, provide technical support, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is required.
