Role overview:

As the Lead Commercial Analyst, you will lead our data analytics efforts working with the Global Commercial teams, with a particular emphasis on supporting and driving partner, monetisation and revenue growth. Leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and data-driven insights, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our commercial strategy, optimising operations, and enhancing partner experiences.

Responsibilities

    • Leadership - Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Commercial Analytics team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving innovation in data-driven decision-making processes.
    • Commercial Analytics - Develop and implement advanced analytics solutions to support commercial initiatives, including pricing optimisation, customer segmentation, churn prediction, and revenue forecasting.
    • Marketplace Dynamics - Partner closely with commercial teams to analyse and optimise marketplace dynamics, including supply and demand balance, pricing strategies, and partner performance.
    • Software Product Insights - Collaborate with product management and development teams to uncover insights from user behaviour data, drive product optimisation, and inform feature development roadmaps.
    • Experimentation and Optimisation - Design and execute A/B tests and experiments to evaluate the impact of business initiatives, iterate on strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations, to integrate data science insights into business processes and decision-making.
    • Talent Development - Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
    • Data Modelling & Pipeline - Oversee our analytics pipeline and oversee good analytics best practice.

    • Lead the development and execution of analytics strategies that drive business insights and innovation.
    • Team Management -
    • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and other analytics professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on delivering impactful insights.
    • Data-driven Decision Making -
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to embed a data-driven decision-making culture throughout the organisation.
    • Ensure analytics initiatives align with business objectives and contribute to performance improvement.
    • Advanced Analytics -
    • Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modelling techniques.
    • Explore emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance analytics capabilities.
    • Data Governance and Quality -
    • Establish and maintain robust data governance practices to ensure data quality, accuracy, and security.
    • Work with relevant teams to optimise data collection, storage, and accessibility.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration -
    • Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, finance, and operations, to understand their analytics needs and deliver insights.
    • Serve as a strategic partner to business units in leveraging analytics for decision-making.
    • Performance Measurement -
    • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of analytics initiatives.
    • Regularly report on analytics performance to executive leadership.
    • Technology Infrastructure -
    • Evaluate and optimise analytics tools, platforms, and infrastructure to ensure scalability and efficiency.
    • Stay abreast of technological advancements in analytics.

Skills, experience & qualifications required

    • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. (preferred)
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
    • Proven track record of leadership in analytics/data science roles, with extensive experience in commercial analytics, preferably in software and marketplace environments.
    • Expertise in advanced analytics and statistical modelling.
    • Experience with analytics tools and platforms.
    • Expertise in machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics, with proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python or R.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and inspire a data-driven culture across the organisation.
