Interested in leading the finance and admin functions for a first-in-class oral health product that will directly affect the health of millions and have a groundbreaking impact on the dental industry? This is an opportunity to shape and define, have ownership, and be instrumental in our growth.

Why this role exists:

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance leader, to undertake all aspects of financial management and administration, including general and operations accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecast, development of internal control policies and procedures, risk management, HR, outsourced Legal, and support on key business systems (ERP, A/P mgmt, Expense Reports, Payroll, other systems).  This leader will have the opportunity to build out this accounting function in a manner that is optimal for the immediate needs and future growth of the organization.

What you will do:

    • Manage all accounting operations including G/L, A/R, A/P, Cost and Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Purchasing, Tax.
    • Coordinate budget owners and prepare annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts.  Analyze and report on BvA and work w mgmt to drive course correction
    • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, including margin and unit economic analysis and other analyses of the business performance in partnership with a fractional CFO
    • Research technical accounting issues and draft white papers and policies
    • Own the month-end and year-end close process
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Serve as finance expert on the Netsuite ERP system —- system administrator, work w Operations on item and vendor master maintenance, standard costing, inventory workflows.   Point person for working w outside IT consulting firm on technical issues and system enhancements
    • Work with dept heads on developing and improving/automating workflows (e.g. travel mgmt, expense rpts, procurement)
    • Work with insurance broker on risk mgmt issues, renewal of policies, claims mgmt

Required profile/experience:

    • Proven experience of 10+ years leading accounting functions
    • Undergrad degree in accounting, finance or business
    • CPA or CMA preferred
    • Experience with all areas of accounting —GL, AP, AR and Revenue, Close process and reporting, audit support, cash management, internal controls
    • Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet modeling skills
    • Experience with a physical product company (inventory and supply chain, cost accounting and analysis, driving gross margin improvement)
    • Experience building and managing a team of internal managers and external contract resources.
    • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Hands-on working style but sees the big picture
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Self-starter that exhibits ownership and a sense of urgency to achieve goals
    • Exceptional team player
    • Has worked in startup environment — flexible and agile, always prioritizing

Preferred experience:

    • Finance leadership role at a company that builds and sells physical product

$140,000 - $175,000 a year
