What We Do
Launched in 2019, Fuel began with the debut of Fuel V1, our first major step toward enhancing Ethereum’s scalability, and since then we've grown to offer a complete rollup operating system. We create innovative technologies like the Fuel Virtual Machine, and Sway—a programing language designed specifically for blockchains—that together form a robust environment for developers. These tools are part of our commitment to optimize and expand Ethereum's potential for all its users.
Who We Are
Our team comprises over 80 professionals, including builders formerly from well-known Web3 organizations such as Consensys, Polygon, Polkadot and Ethereum. Our team works remotely, hailing from diverse locations globally, and we value curiosity, passion, and accountability in our collaborative efforts.
About This Role
To achieve this vision, we need someone with a unique blend of financial expertise and a passion for the dynamic world of Web 3.0.
As our Director of Finance, reporting directly to the COO, you'll play a pivotal role in architecting our financial processes. From budgeting to vendor negotiations, you'll ensure that everything runs smoothly, even in a fully remote environment with a globally distributed team. You'll be a key part of the operations team, collaborating closely to align financial strategies with operational goals.
This role is about more than line items; it's about collaborating with every department to understand their needs and how they impact our bottom line. You'll have the opportunity to shape financial structures from the ground up and be at the forefront of building something that scales.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the C-suite to design and manage budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Serve as the primary partner for our external CFO, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial statements and reports.
- Establish new programs, including expense and vendor management/negotiations, to optimize financial operations.
- Foster in-house familiarity with current accounting systems (Xero, Cryptio) and drive their effective utilization.
- Lead the creation and management of internal budgeting processes to support operational efficiency and financial transparency.
- Provide support to the Ecosystem team in evaluating and managing portfolios to maximize returns and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), with a proven track record of managing financial models for teams.
- Experience in managing investment portfolios and treasury management is preferred.
- Familiarity with multisigs, ledgers, and asset management in a professional (crypto) setting.
- Proficiency in data analytics, modeling, and ROI analysis.
- History of building finance structures from scratch in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and innovation.
- Familiarity with trading, Web3 tools, and De-Fi is a plus
