Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python/Django)

Fullscreen Media (Reelio division) is looking for a talented Senior Python/Django Software Engineer to support the architecture, design, and development of internal applications. You are up for the challenge of owning the full stack from debugging slow database queries to collaborating with other backend engineers, and building scalable external APIs & tools for our customer base. You are an excellent communicator and know how to ask the right questions. 


    • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable Python code
    • Write and maintain ETLs in Python and SQL from multiple sources (Redshift, PG, 3rd party APIs)
    • Develop customer facing APIs
    • Understand requirements from stakeholders and provide estimates of work
    • Interface with various internal and external teams to help define requirements, interfaces, and implementation approaches
    • Provide troubleshooting support and fix bugs across platforms
    • Work with Agile team members to write clear, concise and comprehensive features
    • Participate in Agile working practices such as daily scrum meetings, sprint planning meetings, reviews and retrospectives


    • BS in Computer Science OR related engineering degree
    • 5+ years of relevant work experience
    • Experience building enterprise level SaaS platforms
    • Experience with our stack: Python, Django, ElasticSearch, OAuth, Postgres, Redis, Redshift, AWS hosting.
    • Experience with multiple ORMs
    • Experience with message brokers and task queue frameworks (i.e. RabbitMQ, Celery)
    • Understanding of “session management” in a distributed server environment
    • Experience with Youtube & Facebook API a plus
    • Experience with test driven development
    • Experience working on backends that are scalable, fault tolerant, well-documented and most importantly testable
    • Experience building public facing APIs. ( Knowledge of Django Rest Framework a plus)
