We are seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to join our talented team. As a Senior React Native Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction and architecture of our design system. You will work closely with the Technical Lead and with system and content designers, as well as collaborate with the product team to address the challenges of a rapidly growing design system with increasing demands while maintaining consistency across our many platforms.

This position can be based remotely in BC, AB, ON, or NS.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with the Technical Lead and other team members to plan and architect mobile app components and interaction patterns, and contribute to design discussions and decisions.
- Implement and deliver high-quality mobile app features and enhancements using React Native, JavaScript, and React.
- Work as part of a "pod," a small team of front-end developers and designers to ensure effective and efficient development processes.
- Contribute to the technical health of the design system by adhering to engineering and UX best practices and participating in code reviews.
- Collaborate and assist with developers from other teams, such as our mobile team, to be a voice in the direction and expedite the delivery of improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile app development trends and technologies, incorporating them into the design system when appropriate.
- Assist in mentoring and guiding all developers, fostering a culture of growth and high psychological safety within the team.
What you bring to the table:
- 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on mobile applications using React Native, JavaScript, and React.
- Strong expertise in mobile app development, including proficiency in building cross-platform applications.
- Experience contributing or working with a design system.
- In-depth knowledge of mobile UI/UX best practices, performance optimization, and accessibility.
- A keen eye for UX patterns and design details that enrich mobile experiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical and UX challenges.
- Passion for staying updated with the latest mobile app development trends and a drive to continuously improve engineering practices.
