The purpose of the Post Closer position is to review, prepare and sell closed loans in the secondary market. Post Closers are responsible for making sure the all items in the executed closing packages are accurate prior to being prepared for sale to an investor or agency. Post Closers work closely with the Closing, Funding and Secondary departments as well as outside parties such as settlement service providers, title companies, investors, Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, USDA, and others. Post Closers report the departmental manager.

Responsibilities

    • Review Closing Packages
    • Ensure executed closing packages are received in a timely manner once loans have funded
    • Confirm all terms and items in the package are accurate, including the Note, Deed, TIL, Right to Cancel, rates, payments, locks, etc
    • Be sure all dates and signatures are correct
    • Confirm 2010 GFE or Change of Circumstances are completed
    • Review Credit Package to make sure all of the information is included including Homeowners Insurance, Flood Insurance when applicable, Flood Certifications and Title
    • Confirm Final HUD matches the LOS entry
    • Insure Packages Accordingly
    • IF FHA, VA or USDA, prepare insuring packages
    • Sell Closed Loans & Update LOS
    • Sell reviewed loans in a timely manner to a secondary investor
    • Communicate with and retrieve and provide requested conditions to investor contacts
    • Update all shipment details, dates, investor information, milestones, etc in LOS

Qualifications

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Self-starting, self-reliant, highly motivated and dependable
    • Efficient in time-management and ability to organize and prioritize tasks
    • Technological savvy and comfort in learning new computer systems and programs
    • High school diploma required, college degree preferred
    • Prior mortgage industry experience, preferably in Post Closing or Closing
    • Strong understanding of the mortgage process from origination through post closing
    • Completion of the Anti-Money Laundering, Fair Lending, and Equity trainings are required
