The Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in product innovation and development.  As a manager, you will have the opportunity to coach and inspire a cross functional group of talented engineers.  As a technologist, you will provide oversight and support in the technical direction and architecture of our systems.  As a leader, you will partner with Product to plan and define a strategic roadmap to address the dynamic and complex challenges of the ticketing industry.  The ability to navigate ambiguity, execute short term planning, and provide long term thinking will be key to your success.

As a member of our Engineering, you will be part of the team that builds and supports the client-side apps and backend systems that power the Gametime experience for millions of customers.  We empower our engineers to own the code they write by fostering a culture that believes in testing, code reviews, metrics/instrumentation, experimentation, and operational excellence.  We aim to champion a collaborative, fun, and inclusive environment where all ideas are welcome.

What you'll do/own:

    • Lead a team of engineers in product development, technical design, and successful delivery
    • Manage and coach your team through effective 1-1’s, career guidance, mentorship, and continuous feedback (positive and constructive)
    • Build and maintain high performing teams
    • Work closely with Product team to plan/define the product roadmap and manage cross team dependencies
    • Collaborate closely with cross functional departments (Data, Supply, Growth, Ticket Ops, Fan Happiness) to ensure seamless communication
    • Effectively communicate decisions and issues both upwards and downwards

Our ideal candidate has:

    • 8+ years of experience in software engineering
    • 2+ years of engineering management experience or equivalent
    • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
    • Experience in leading a team to successful execution
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in building (recruiting/interviewing, hiring) a team
    • Team development skills (mentorship, establishing goals, delivering feedback, career development)
    • Experience designing and developing mobile applications and backend services preferred
    • Experience with service-oriented architectures preferred
    • Experience working with a major cloud platform preferred (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

Base Salary Range

    • $200,000- $230,000
    • At Gametime pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
