GenEdit is a rapidly-growing, early-stage company that is developing a proprietary and novel delivery platform with the potential to transform genetic medicine. Our interdisciplinary team works together across chemistry, payload, formulation, screening, and preclinical groups to develop the next generation of gene therapies. GenEdit fosters an exciting and dynamic environment where we value impactful data and creative solutions to accelerate our progression from a platform technology to a pipeline of therapeutic candidates. We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our team and are expanding across all functions within the organization. Join us in South San Francisco, CA, to be at the forefront of the future of gene therapy.

We seek a goal-oriented individual with extensive academic/industry experience in non-viral gene delivery preferably in nanoparticle sciences. This is a full-time lab role that will involve hands-on nanoparticle formulation, biophysical characterization, and in vitro cell-based assays. As a member of our R&D Formulation team, this individual will support bioanalytical method and process development efforts that are critical to the advancement of preclinical candidates to the clinic. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative and resourceful team player who communicates effectively and approaches technical challenges with enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Principal role and responsibilities:

    • Exercise scientific thinking and experience to solve a range of complex problems in creative and practical ways;
    • Support formulation work of our polymer nanoparticles and interpret data/results to support formulation development and progression of our drug candidates;
    • Perform routine analytical testing to characterize formulations;
    • Design, execute and interpret experiments;
    • Present laboratory results within the PPD team and to the R&D program team(s) as necessary;
    • Maintain scrupulous records documenting formulation activities and results in our electronic lab book;
    • Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality, including lab equipment maintenance and the ordering and receiving of lab supplies;
    • Additional lab projects and assignments as required

Required Education and Experience

    • Minimum of 4 years (BS) or 2 years (MS) lab experience in academic or biotech industry;
    • Hands-on experience in non-viral gene delivery including nanoparticle formulations, in vitro assays (Experience in working with siRNA, ASO, miRNA, mRNA, CRISPR mRNA, and RNP preferred);
    • Molecular biology and bioanalytical skills: nanoparticle formulation assays and analytical characterization assays (DLS, UV-Vis, HPLC), RNA isolation/quantitation assays and in vitro cell-based assays and Western Blot assays will be preferred, but not essential;
    • Work authorization in the US required
At GenEdit we are always looking to hire the absolute best talent and recognize that diversity in our experiences and backgrounds is what makes us stronger. We hire candidates of any race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital or family status, disability, veteran status, and any other status.
