CISO

  • The following questions address hypothetical scenarios designed to reveal your risk management and decision making approach. Use concise 1-3 sentence responses to share insights into your experiences, learned intuitions, and communication style. A defense company that designs and manufactures the next generation of fighter jet technology must prioritize the protection of its intellectual property. Two executives differ on which initiative is more important: a) disabling the ability for employees to use BYOD laptops to access sensitive data in favor of managed devices; versus b) inventorying sensitive data and applying classification and labels to all sensitive information. Share your opinion and rationale.
  • A risk identification tool detects the presence of a Log4J library known to contain a critical remote code execution vulnerability on a production server. Discuss the details the team needs to understand to assess the urgency of this risk, and some example information that could raise or lower the priority of remediation.
  • What are some effective methods to mitigate the risk of sensitive data being uploaded to unauthorized third-party web sites without decrypting the payloads? Discuss the efficacy of that approach versus content inspection.
